Transportation Department recommending Chairman be authorized to sign Agreement for Services AGMT 06-1332 with DMJM+Harris, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $4,100,000 for a term effective upon execution and expiring upon the later of County's recordation of the Notice of Completion for the U.S. 50/Cameron Park Drive Interchange Improvements- Phase 1 Project or resolution of all construction claims, if any, associated with that Project to perform professional services associated with the engineering design and construction support for the interchange and associated improvement projects; and adopt recommended findings pertaining to same. Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:
Funding is provided through the 2004 General Plan Traffic Impact Mitigation Fee Program. The Department has sufficient revenues budgeted in this account to fund this Agreement. There is no cost to the County General Fund associated with this agenda item.
Reason for Recommendation:
The Cameron Park Drive Interchange area is currently experiencing heavy congestion that is expected to increase in the years ahead. Current service levels on Cameron Park Drive between Robin Lane and Coach Lane are running at Level of Service "F" and the 2004 General Plan calls for Cameron Park Drive to be widened from two to four lanes from U.S. Highway 50 to Oxford Road, potentially exacerbating congestion levels to the Interchange.
