Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: There is no fiscal impact or net County cost associated with this item.

Background: CSUS is working to set up current RN nursing students with internships in local public healthcare settings. The Department was approached by the University to establish a collaborative partnership to provide these students with clinical and educational experiences which would enhance their capabilities as practitioners. The County's Public Health Clinic would serve as an appropriate venue for this purpose.

Interns will perform services for patients/clients only when directly supervised by registered or licensed Department clinical staff. Interns shall work, perform assignments, and participate in clinics, staff meetings, and in-service educational programs at the discretion of those supervisors. Staff will also work with CSUS in evaluating each nursing student during the course of their internship. The term of this agreement is five (5) years.
