Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: County will receive a total of $463,599 for activities as described in the attached grant agreement for 2007-08. The Board approved $67,091 of this funding at their meeting on January 8, 2008.

Background: The CDPH administers funding from the CDC for emergency preparedness activities, funding which the County has received for several years, and has committed to continuing to provide CDC Preparedness funding to all Local Health Departments (LHD) throughout California in the 2007-08 grant year. Due to delays in preparing funding agreements by the CDC, CDPH awarded El Dorado County an advancement of $67,091 of the 2007-08 allocation, which was to be used to continue existing personnel costs and activities approved in the 2006-07 comprehensive agreement. Those funds covered the period August 31, 2007 through November 30, 2007.

The Department eventually received amendment documents from CDPH in mid January for the remaining amount of the grant. Additional funds were made available to the County, which exceeded initial estimates and will require an increase to the County 2007/2008 adopted budget....
