Background: The Ryan White C.A.R.E. Act provides emergency medical and support care services for people living with HIV/AIDS disease. Services include, but are not limited to, information, referrals and/or arranging for outpatient medical care, skilled nursing, medication management, diagnosis and treatment of common medical and mental conditions, and addressing nutrition issues to include direct food purchases as well as support to local food banks in El Dorado County. El Dorado County Ryan White services are subcontracted to Sierra Foothills AIDS Foundation, an agency with which we have a longstanding and successful relationship.
Reason for Recommendation: El Dorado receives Federal sponsored Ryan White program funding through Sacramento County, the fiscal agent for the five (5) county Transitional Grant Area (TGA). This contract is retroactive to April 1, 2007; however, Amendment III documents were not received until November 18, 2008 from Sacramento County and staff immediately began preparing for Board approval.
Action to be taken following Board approval:
1. Board to sign five (5) original Amendment III to Agreement 7275-07/10-709 documents.
2. Board Clerk to return five (5) signed original Amendment III documents to Health Services Department - Public Health Division for processing.
3. Health Services Department to return five (5) signed original Amendment III documents to Sacramento County for final signature.
4. Health Services Department to return one (1) fully executed Amendment III to Agreement 7275-07/10-709 to the Board Clerk's Office upon receipt from Sacramento County.
