Health Services Department recommending the Board authorize the Chairman to sign Amendment 11 to Agreement CC2007-10 (803-S0611) with the County of Alpine establishing the total compensation amount at $60,000 for fiscal years 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 for a term through August 9, 2009 for Hospital Preparedness program (HPP) Coordinator services provided by El Dorado County.

Background: Alpine County has contracted with El Dorado County for HRSA/HPP Coordinator services via this Agreement CC2007-10 with "no stated term" beginning 2006. Subsequent amendments have been required each year due to changes in State HPP funding and requirements. This Amendment II to that Agreement will terminate the Agreement effective August 2009, allowing both counties to determine annually whether there is a need for such an Agreement between counties.
In addition, the original Agreement did not include a provision to address changes in annual State HPP funding. This Amendment II reduces the payment due for FY 2007-08 to $17,262, and increases the amount due for FY 2008-09 to $42,738.
Reason for Recommendation: This Amendment II establishes the compensation amount at $60,000 for fiscal years 2007-08 and 2008-09, with payments as noted above. In addition, this Amendment II sets an end date to this Agreement so future Agreements for HPP Coordinator services, if required, will accurately reflect the current requirements and funding from the State HPP program.
