Background:
On July 20, 2010 the Board approved Agreement 101-129-P-E2010 with the County of Sacramento, Department of Health and Human Services, Public Health Laboratory, in an amount not-to-exceed $30,000 for a term July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011 to provide back-up laboratory services for the County of El Dorado (item 9, Legistar file 10-0732). The services provided under this Agreement are intended to primarily supplement the Department's existing limited laboratory staffing (presently one full time employee) to cover instances of staff absence or the influx of unusually high workload, such as that which could occur during instances of outbreaks or other Public Health emergencies.

Reason for Recommendation:
The fee schedule incorporated in the original Agreement did not reflect the most current Sacramento County Public Health Laboratory pricing; therefore, this Amendment I replaces the previous Exhibit A - Sacramento County Fee Schedule with the current Sacramento County Fee Schedule.  In addition, this Amendment I provided the opportunity to correct a typographical error in Article III - Compensation (correcting paragraph references).  Approval of Amendment I will allow the County to pay for services based on the current pricing schedule for Sacramento County Public Health Laboratory.  The effective date of the amendment is upon full execution.
Action to be taken following Board approval:
1)  Chair to sign three (3) original Amendments I to Agreement 101-129-P-E2010.
2)  Board Clerk's Office to return two (2) signed Amendments to Department.
3)  Department to distribute documents as appropriate.
