DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION:
Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) recommending the Board receive a presentation by community partners and the Behavioral Health Division to educate and inform the Board of the challenges of the behavioral health system and impacts to our community.
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND:
Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) received input from the community of a need to educate and inform the Board of the challenges of the behavioral health system and impacts to our community. Areas of focus for the presentation will include defining behavioral health, discuss growing need and changes in the system delivery at the regional and national levels, challenges of a rural county, impact on community partners, what currently exists and what can we do differently in the behavioral health system.
Presentation members to include multiple El Dorado County departments and community partners to discuss impacts to the community.
