Discuss Local Innovation Subaccount, created within the Law Enforcement Services Account.

Beginning in the 2015-16 fiscal year, each county treasurer, city and county treasurer, or other appropriate official shall transfer to the Local Innovation Subaccount 10 percent of the moneys received October 20, 2016 from each of the following state accounts, (GC 30029.07(b)):
Below is the Growth Special Accounts from where the transfers originate and the balance of the account 7777260 - the Local Innovation Subaccount.
(1) The Trial Court Security Growth Special Account.
a. TRANSFER TO 7777260: 10% $3,530.23
(2) The Community Corrections Growth Special Account.
a. TRANSFER TO 7777260: 10% $23,481.26
(3) The District Attorney and Public Defender Growth Special Account.
a. TRANSFER TO 7777260: 10% $1,257.09
(4) The Juvenile Justice Growth Special Account.
a. TRANSFER TO 7777260: 10% $2,610.10
Total for 15/16 Growth deposited on 10/20/2016 to El Dorado $308,786.75; 10% or $30,878.68 to the Local Innovation Subaccount 777260.
Notwithstanding any other provision of this section, the moneys in the Local Innovation Subaccount shall be used to fund local needs. The board of supervisors of a county or city and county shall have the authority to spend money deposited in the Local Innovation Subaccount as it would any funds in the Juvenile Justice Subaccount, the District Attorney and Public Defender Subaccount, the Community Corrections Subaccount, or the Trial Court Security Subaccount.
