Clerk of the Board, based upon the recommendation of Supervisor Frentzen, recommending the Board reappoint Richard Mason to the Assessment Appeals Board as the District II Member, Term Expiration 9/1/2020.

Body

The Assessment Appeals Board constitutes the County Board of Equalization that shall equalize values of all property on the local assessment roll by adjusting individual assessments. This Board is to exercise its powers in the manner and subject to the limitations specified by California law.

 

Richard Mason has been the District II Member on the Assessment Appeals Board since 2009.

 

BACKGROUND

Pursuant to Ordinance Code Section 2.20.050(b) states:

Upon the expiration of any term of office or the occurance of a vacancy on the Assessment Appeals Board (AAB), the Board of  Supervisors shall fill such office or vacancy by direct appointment.  Anyone appointed to fill a vacancy during the term of a regular member shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term.

 

Richard Mason's most recent term ends September 1, 2017 and he has expressed interest in continuing his service to El Dorado County in this capacity.
