Body

DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION:

Per California Code 1063 (and with abundance of caution), the Treasurer-Tax Collector seeks consent from the Board of Supervisors to be out of the state in excess of 30 days, should there be an unexpected delay in travel plans.

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

California Government Code Section 1063 states, "No officer of a county or judicial district shall absent himself from the state for more than 30 days unless either: (a) Upon business from the state, county or judicial district, (b) With the consent of the board of supervisors of the county.

The Treasurer-Tax Collector is planning a trip outside the State of California.  Travel plans do not currently exceed 30 days.  However, should an unforseen event occur, a delay could result.  Therefore, approval is requested.
