DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

Managing the Effects of Public Safety Realignment Enforcement Operations Program is for the prevention and enforcement operations between the Cities of Placerville and South Lake Tahoe Police Departments and the El Dorado Probation Department. Operations are directed toward the realigned adult population within the respective city limits and unincorporated areas of El Dorado County.

The operational goal is to reduce recidivism as identified by the Community Corrections Partnership (CCP) El Dorado County Public Safety Realignment Implementation Plan. The Probation Department will facilitate the reimbursement for services and training under this Memorandum of Understanding through Community Corrections funding as approved by the CCP. The term of this Memorandum of Understanding shall be perpetual one year terms as approved upon agreement by the CCP executive committee, and funded in the CCP budget and approved by the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors.

This Board approved and signed MOU #172-M150 on April 28, 2015 (15-0355, item #34). Prior BOS acceptance of the CCP approved budgets are FY 15/16 08/18/15 15-09330 #9; FY 16/17 08/02/16 16-0607 #29; and FY 17/18 05/23/17 17-0496 #21.

Approve as recommended.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

There is no change to Net County Cost. Expenditures that are reimbursable under this agreement are approved by the Community Corrections Partnership Implementation Plan Budget.

The Not to Exceed amount of this MOU shall coincide with the Local Law Enforcement Enhancement amount as stated in the each AB109 Budget approved by the Community Corrections Partnership.

 

CLERK OF THE BOARD FOLLOW UP ACTIONS

1. Clerk of the Board to obtain signature of the Chair on three originals of  Amendment I of Memorandum of Understanding #172-M1510.

2. Clerk of the Board to forward two (2) original of Amendment I of Memorandum of Understanding #172-M1510 to the Probation Department at 3974 Durock Road, Suite 205, Shingle Springs, CA 95682 for disbursement to all parties.
