DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION
Surveyor's Office recommending the Board adopt a Resolution of Vacation for Abandonment of Easement (AOE) 17-003 to abandon a portion of a storm drain easement (aka drainage easement) on Lot 682 of "WEST VALLEY VILLAGE UNIT NO. 6C", recorded at Book J of Subdivisions at Page 103, identified as Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) 118-560-02, requested by the owners, K. HOVNANIAN AT BLACKSTONE, LLC, a California Limited Liability Company.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
A request has been submitted by K. HOVNANIAN AT BLACKSTONE, LLC, a California Limited Liability Company, owner of APN 118-560-02, requesting that the County of El Dorado, Board of Supervisors, vacate a portion of the drainage easement located on the subject property. Said easement is more particularly described in Exhibit A, and depicted on Exhibit B of the attached Resolution.

The drainage easement, as shown on Lot 682 of "WEST VALLEY VILLAGE UNIT NO. 6C", recorded at Book J of Subdivisions at Page 103 was offered to the County of El Dorado by, Landsource Holding Company LLC, a Delaware Limited Liability Company, on May 31, 2007. The easement was acknowledged and rejected by the County of El Dorado on December 11, 2007 and the Subdivision Map recorded on December 13, 2007.

Department of Transportation has not used said portion of the easement for the purpose for which it was dedicated and finds no present or future need exists for this portion of the easement and does not object to its abandonment, and to that end, has provided written approval to the County Surveyor’s Office.
