Clerk of the Board recommending the Board;
1) Adopt and authorize the Chair to sign Resolution 162-2017 establishing the 2018 Board of Supervisors meeting calendar; and
2) Authorize the Clerk of the Board to update the 2018 meeting calendar with Budget related dates as identified in the future by the Chief Administrative Office. (Est. Time: 15 Min.)

DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION
The Clerk of the Board recommends approval of the 2018 meeting calendar.
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The Board adopts it annual meeting calendar in the Fall of each year to allow sufficient time for other committees and commissions on which Board members serve to adopt their respective calendars.
The recommended calendar proposes regular Board meetings continue with the successful 2017 model averaging three meetings per month. The most notable proposed change to the 2018 calendar is the varied start times that depend on the month of the year.
The Resolution (Attachment B) proposes regular meeting start times in 2018 as follows:
9:00 A.M. start time in the months of January, February, March, November and December.
8:00 A.M. start time in the months of April, May, June, July, August, September and October.
The proposed calendar adjusts for the annual Cap to Cap conference April 14th through 18th and the annual meeting of the California State Association of Counties November 26th through 30th each of which are typically attended by one or more members of the Board. Staff anticipates the 2018 Tahoe Summit will be held on August 21st pursuant to the history of that special event. In addition, and representing a departure from past practice, staff recommends the Board meet on Tuesday November 13th which follows Veterans Day.
The calendar will be updated as 2018 Budget related meeting dates are identified by the Chief Administrative Office. This item seeks authority for the Clerk to update the calendar once those dates are identified.
