Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:
The State of California Governor's Office of Homeland Security California Transit Security Grant Program-California Transit Assistance Funds (CTSGP-CTAF) is a jurisdictional allocation made available through the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA), sitting as the Regional Transportation Planning Agency (RTPA). Approximately $25,000.00 is available for Fiscal Year 2008-09. There is no Net County Cost.

Background:
As part of the November 7, 2006 general election, voters approved Proposition 1B related to the Highway Safety, Traffic Reduction, Air Quality and Port Security Bond Act of 2006, which authorizes the issuance of nineteen billion nine hundred twenty five million dollars ($19,925,000,000) in general obligation bonds for specified purposes, including grants for transit system safety, security and disaster response projects. Section 8879.23 of the California Government Code creates the Highway Safety, Traffic Reduction, Air Quality and Port Security Fund of 2006 in the State Treasury. Section 8879.23 (h) directs that one billion dollars ($1,000,000,000) be deposited in the Transit System Safety, Security and Disaster Response Account.
