Background:
On August 15, 2006, Agenda Item #71, the Board of Supervisors directed the Department of Transportation to process an abandonment, pursuant to Streets and Highways Code Section 8320(a)1 et seq., of the County Road known as Old River Road through APN 006-231-13, 26, -27, and -28. The vacation is pursuant of the provisions of the Streets and Highways Code Section 8320 et seq., Chapter 3 of Part 3, Division 9 (General Vacation Procedures).
Reason for Recommendation:
An error was created when a new subdivision map was recorded on June 13, 1949 Map of Coloma Heights Resubdivision of Portions of Lots 2,5,6,7,8,10, & 11 Block 13 Coloma Townsite recorded in Book A of Maps, Page 89. Old River Road was superceded by relocation by the County road known as New River Road and should have been vacated. Old River Road is not being used as a street or highway and is not necessary for access to parcels 006-231-13, -26, -27, and -28.
The Department of Transportation has reviewed the proposed vacation and has no objections to vacate the road known as Old River Road.
Action to be taken following Board approval:
1. Clerk of the Board shall publish for two successive weeks the Notice of Public Hearing in accordance with the requirements of the Streets and Highways Code Section 8322(a).
