Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:
Installation of the "Regulatory Limit" signs on Mosquito Road is estimated at $1,000.00 and is available in the Department of Transportation’s Road Maintenance Budget funded by the Road Fund.

Reason for Recommendation:
As a result of the reoccurring single vehicle accidents located on Mosquito Road at the bridge crossing the South Fork of the American River, the Department of Transportation caused an engineering investigation to be made of the configuration of the roadway and the approach to the bridge. This resulted in an "Engineering and Traffic Survey" being submitted to the Traffic Advisory Committee with the following restrictions being recommended for approval by the Board of Supervisors.

To sanction a Resolution which will establish width and length limits pursuant to Section 12.24.000, of the El Dorado County Ordinance Code and Section 21109 of the California Vehicle Code.

This new resolution will be in effect with Resolution 257-81 which established a weight limit of five (5) tons gross load. This will result in additional regulatory signs for vehicular exclusion being installed on Mosquito Road for the bridge crossing the South Fork of the American River.
