Background: The El Dorado Arts Council supports the cultural development of El Dorado County by advocating for and creating the highest quality artistic and educational opportunities for residents and visitors. It serves as the county's umbrella organization for individual artists and arts organizations, providing them with a variety of programs and services.
The El Dorado Arts Council is funded in part by the California Arts Council, as well as through grants, memberships, donations and fundraising events.
 
 
Reason for Recommendation: Approval will re-affirm the El Dorado Arts Council as the county's local partner with the California Arts Council.  The resolution will support the El Dorado Arts Council's application for a 2007-08 Pivotal Arts Impact Grant.
 
 
Action to be taken following Board approval: El Dorado Arts Council will include the resolution within their application for a 2007-08 Pivotal Impact Grant from the California Arts Council.
