Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: None. The grant is providing 100% funding and there is no county match requirement.

Background: On 7/29/08, your Board approved agenda item #08-1019 allowing the Sheriff to submit the 2008 Homeland Security Grant Application. The Sheriff has been approved for this grant.

The Fiscal Year 2008 Homeland Security Grant program has allocated $351,409 for the State Homeland Security Grant Program (SHSGP) and $117,136 for the Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention Program (LETPP) to El Dorado County for the FY2008 Homeland Security Grant Program. The total of the two programs is $468,545. The County is the subgrantee and provides funding for planning, equipment, training, exercises and management/administration costs to the Cities of South Lake Tahoe and Placerville, Sheriff's Office, Public Health, Environmental Management, Fire Districts and other eligible local agencies.

Reason for Recommendation: El Dorado County applies for this grant annually and has again been approved for grant funding. The Sheriff's Office recently received the grant award letter and is bringing this item back to your Board with a budget transfer establishing a budget.

Action to be taken following Board approval: The Board will approve the Budget Transfer and the Auditor will process it. Sheriff staff will work with Procurement and Contracts to obtain the equipment approved in the grant and the Sheriff's approved fixed asset list fo...
