Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: Funding is budgeted and available in the Parks ACO Fund.
Background: Currently, the Department of General Services is responsible for the planning and design of countywide parks and trails. Other park and recreation providers in the County include the Cities of Placerville, South Lake Tahoe, the El Dorado Hills and Cameron Park Community Services Districts and the Georgetown Divide Recreation and Park District.
On, May 20, 2008, Agenda item #36, Your Board approved an MOU with the City of Placerville to collaborate and provide funding with the City in its efforts to identify facilities and improvements to serve park users in the general Placerville area which includes Placerville and El Dorado County park facilities. Foothill Associates is currently working on the City of Placerville's Park and Recreation Master Plan.
The Agreement 267-S0911 with Foothill Associates encompasses the preparation of a Park and Trails Master Plan and related CEQA documentation. That, in conjunction with Placerville's Master Plan will incorporate the West slope of El Dorado County.
Action to be taken following Board approval: The Chairman to sign Agreement 267-S0911 pending approval by County Counsel and Risk Management. Board Clerk will forward Agreement to General Services contract staff for further processing.
