Background:
On Tuesday, November 18, 2008, the Chief Administrative Officer brought forward Resolution #300-2008 that established a reduction in force and amended the Authorized Personnel Allocation.

On December 9, 2008, the Chief Administrative office brought forward Resolution #324-2008 that included a reduction in force for the Information Technologies Department.  At that meeting the Board directed that the IT Department be removed from the resolution and that staff return to the Board at a later date with the reduction plan for the IT Department.

Reason for Recommendation:
Subsequent to the December 9, 2008 Board meeting, the Chief Administrative Office has continued to work with the Information Technologies Department and Local #1 together with Human Resources to implement a reduction in force for the Information Technologies Department.  The attached resolution recommends  the deletion of 4.0 FTE Information Technology Analyst Trainee/I/II positons from the Personnel Allocation in the IT Department.
