Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: No fiscal impact to County.
Reason for Recommendation: The County is a member of CSAC-EIA and participates in its purchasing pool for a number of exposure coverages including general liability, workers' compensation, property, medical malpractice insurance, etc. The County's agreement with CSAC-EIA requires the appointment of a Primary and Alternate Member from each County member organization. Larry Costello, Sr. Risk Management Analyst, is currently the Primary Member and Lisa Hoaas, Sr. Risk Management Analyst, is the Alternate.
It is to the County's advantage to appoint County personnel who will actively participate in the CSAC-EIA program. Ron Grassi, who served as the CSAC-EIA Primary Member in his previous position as HR Director/Risk Manager with Imperial County, is an appropriate Alternate Member. In the event the Primary Member cannot attend a CSAC-EIA board meeting, the Alternate needs to attend in the Primary Member's stead or the County is unrepresented.
Action to be taken following Board approval: Risk Management will forward a copy of the minute order approving the new Alternate Member appointment to CSAC-EIA.
