Title
Human Resources Department recommending adoption of Resolution establishing the salary range and designating the bargaining unit for the new classification of Sr. Property/Evidence Technician.
Resolution 063-2009
Body

Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:  The Board approved the deletion of a Property/Evidence Technician and the addition of a Sr. Property Evidence Technician on June 17, 2008 with the approval of Resolution 180-2008, amending the 2008-2009 County's Authorized Personnel Allocation.  Adoption of the specification and establishment of the salary and bargaining unit do not have a fiscal impact.

Background:

Reason for Recommendation:  It has been determined that this division of the Sheriff's Department would benefit from a Senior position that would oversee daily activities and provide day-to-day training and guidance.  This position is also responsible for keeping abreast of changing laws, rules and regulations and implementing them in the division.  The salary is being set at 5% above the Property/Evidence Technician position.

Action to be taken following Board approval:  Human Resources will insure that the job specification is added to the County's website and the Salary Schedule is amended.
