Reason for Recommendation:
The Department of Transportation (DOT) is working to advance the Environmental Improvement Program (EIP) Project for the Angora Creek Fisheries / SEZ Enhancement Project JN95161. The project will re-grade the drainage area, construct curb and gutter, construct bike lanes, and construct a three sided bottomless concrete bridge.

This project is subject to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). The preparation of a CEQA Mitigated Negative Declaration has been completed and on March 24, 2006 your Board adopted and approved the project as described in the CEQA document.

The research of the potentially affected parcel, and the acquisition of land rights affecting a portion of the subject parcel, is necessary from the subject property owner to enable the construction of the project. In order for DOT to prepare for negotiations with the subject parcel owner, DOT staff is requesting authorization from your Board to proceed with the acquisition process, including the ordering of, and payment for, a title report and obtaining a certified appraisal of the land rights to be acquired.

Action to be taken following Board approval:
