Title
Transportation Department recommending the Board authorize the Chairman to sign the Right of Way Contract 035604-1 and Easement Deed with the State of California, affecting a portion of land relinquished by the State to the County of El Dorado along Highway 50 in the Fresh Pond area.

Body
Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:
The County will receive Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for the easement.  There is no net cost to the County General Fund associated with this agenda item.

Reason for Recommendation:
Caltrans has requested to purchase a drainage easement on property that was previously relinquished by Caltrans to El Dorado County, along Highway 50 in the Fresh Pond area.  Caltrans will be replacing underground culverts and clearing ditches along Highway 50.  The location of the easement is depicted in Detail #2 on the attached Right of Way Map and is described in the attached Easement Deed.  While the appraised value of said easement is $80.34, Caltrans is offering a nominal fee of $500.00 for the easement.  The Department of Transportation has no objections to the sale of the easement to Caltrans.

Action to be taken following Board approval:
1. Chairman of the Board to sign the Right of Way Contract 035604-1, in triplicate, and Easement Deed with the State of California-Department of Transportation for the State's acquisition of the necessary land rights.
2. Clerk of the Board to return the Right of Way Contract 035604-1, in triplicate, and Easement Deed to the Department of Transportation's Right of Way Unit for transmittal to the State.
3. An original fully executed Right of Way Contract 035604-1 by the State shall be returned to the Clerk of the Board for its files.
