Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: No change.
No direct County Match is required. Funding awards are to be announced June 1, 2009 for a grant period of June 1, 2009 through May 31, 2010. If the Application is funded, grant proceeds will be deposited into Community Services Fund 11-107, and a budget transfer request will be submitted to establish a budget for this Project.

Reason for Recommendation:
El Dorado Community Foundation has announced the availability of funding and is seeking proposals for programs to benefit the community in support of the Women’s Fund 2009 focus on basic needs of food, shelter, clothing and health care for women. Human Services (DHS) is seeking grant funding in an amount up to $10,000 to conduct a Project that will assist at least twenty-five (25) women who are current or prior DHS clients by providing product-specific purchase cards or direct payments to vendors or organizations in a amounts up to $800 per client to pay for specific products or services related to identified focus areas, the lack of which have been identified as barriers to achieving or maintaining economic self-sufficiency and/or emotional well being and for which all available community resources have been exhausted.
