Title
Supervisor Nutting requesting the Board approve a partial waiver of building permit and environmental fees on behalf of the “Bring Michael Misch Home Project."

FUNDING: Net County Cost: Approximately $829.

Body
In June 2007, Michael Misch and three of his friends were involved in a tragic accident when the driver fell asleep at the wheel and someone was killed. Michael sustained major injuries and although he has come a lot further than expected, he will require care for the rest of his life. He has been living in nursing home since October, 2007 and it is his dream to come home. And, they just learned that his father’s work hours have also been reduced. The family’s financial situation is tenuous at best and they are having difficulty making ends meet and are unable to afford any additional expenses. Members of the El Dorado Builder’s Exchange have generously donated $1,200 towards the cost of the County’s building permit and environmental fees, and the Misch’s are asking the County to waive any remaining costs over and above the $1,200 donation. Development Services has reviewed the plans and estimates their cost of Development Fees to be $1,706, and Environmental Management has stated the septic cost at $323 for a total of $2,209. Barring no changes, the amount the Misch’s are requesting that the County waive is approximately $829.
