Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: There is no fiscal impact and no net cost to the County General Fund associated with this agenda item.

Reason for Recommendation: On September 18, 1990, the County rejected the Offer of Dedication for the streets, other public ways and drainage facilities shown on the final subdivision map which filed for record in Book H of Maps at page 30, of the El Dorado County Recorder’s office. However, said offer remains open in perpetuity until such time as the Board of Supervisor’s, by Resolution, accepts said offer.

An application, together with a signed petition from several property owners, has been submitted to the Department of Transportation requesting the County of El Dorado vacate a portion of Dodson Road and Heffren Drive, which are unconstructed roadways within the Sun Ridge Meadow subdivision. Said subdivision is located east of Latrobe Road and south of Golden Foothill Parkway, in El Dorado Hills.

Pursuant to the requirements of Government Code 65402, the Planning Commission found by Finding of Consistency hearing on February 12, 2009, that the proposed abandonment of the dedicated roads and public utility easements was consistent with the El Dorado County General Plan. The minutes for said hearing are attached hereto as Exhibit C.

The Department of Transportation, pursuant to Section 8320 of the Streets and Highways Code, requests the Board consider and declare its intention to vacate the portions of the public roads as described in Exhibit A and depicted on Exhibit B for Dodson Road, and described in E...
