Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:
Installation of the speed limit signs on various roads is estimated at $1,500 and is available in the fiscal year 2008/2009 Road Fund Budget.
Reason for Recommendation: Resolution No. 247-81 established speed restrictions pursuant to Section 10.08.020 of the El Dorado County Ordinance Code. Approval of the attached resolution by the Board of Supervisors amends Resolution No. 247-81 to include revisions recommended by the Tahoe Traffic Advisory Committee on February 11, 2009.
The revisions at the specific sites listed below are to be carried out in accordance with the attached Resolution.
Amend speed limits on Black Bart Avenue (No. 1351) from a point 250 feet south of the most southerly intersection with Hank Monk Avenue to a point 250 feet north of Genoa Avenue (No. 2001); Elks Club Drive (No. 2535) from Pioneer Trail (No. 114) to U.S. Highway 50; Lake Tahoe Boulevard (No. 2204) from North Upper Truckee Road (No. 159) to a point 500 feet east of Tahoe Mountain Road (No. 2203); Pioneer Trail (No. 114) from U.S. Highway 50 to the City of South Lake Tahoe limits; and Sawmill Road (No. 2202) between U.S. Highway 50 and Lake Tahoe Boulevard.
Action to be taken following Board approval: Installation of appropriate speed limit signs by the Department of Transportation.
