Body

DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION

Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) recommending the Board adopt and authorize the Chair to sign Resolution 109-2018, to replace Resolution 126-2017, which supports the No Place Like Home Technical Assistance Grant application, correcting a typographical error as required by the California Department of Housing and Community Development.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

On August 29, 2017, the Board passed Resolution No. 126-2017, as a part of an item brought to the Board to meet the requirements of the No Place Like Home Technical Assistance Grant application requirements (Item No. 17-0888; Agenda No. 20). Said item also authorized the Director to submit the grant application and execute any subsequent funding agreement, contingent upon County Counsel and Risk Management. Following Board approval of this item, HHSA submitted a grant application along with the adopted resolution to the Department of Housing and Community Development.

On April 4, 2018, the Department of Housing and Community Development contacted HHSA and indicated the resolution in its existing format was unacceptable due to a typographic error. With assistance of the Board Clerk, HHSA provided a corrected resolution, signed by the Chair, affirming the mistake was mundane and purely typographic in nature. The Department of Housing and Community Development subsequently indicated such a correction was insufficient and a completely new resolution would be required.  This Resolution will replace Resolution 126-2017, thereby resolving the issue identified by the Department of Housing and Community Development, and allowing HHSA to continue to move forward in the grant process.

ALTERNATIVES

Should the Board decline to adopt the new resolution, HHSA would not be able to proceed in the grant application process.
