Body

DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION

Chief Administrative Office, Facilities Division, recommending the Board authorize the Purchasing Agent to sign Amendment II to Agreement for Services 273-S1511 with Architectural Nexus, Inc. to provide architectural and construction support services for the A & B Government Center renovation project extending the term to December 31, 2018.  There are no changes to rates or total compensation.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

On November 13, 2014, the Board approved Agreement No. 273-S1511 with Architectural Nexus, Inc. for a three year term and a not-to-exceed amount of $531,250 to provide architectural and construction support services for the A & B Government Center renovation project.

On December 5, 2017, the Board approved Amendment I to Agreement No. 273-S1511 with Architectural Nexus, Inc. to extend the term an additional six months for an amended expiration of June 9, 2018 with no changes to the compensation.  The purpose of this extension was to allow the Division to work through any issues with the Consultant if they arise during the construction close-out process.

The Division continues to work through the construction close-out process with items specific to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) still needing to be verified.  The Division requests a second term extension to December 31, 2018 so that we may have support services available, if needed.  There is no change in compensation.

ALTERNATIVES

The Board could choose not to extend the agreement and the Division would not have these services available through project close-out.
