Background: Funding has been made available through the Help America Vote Act (HAVA) to update voting equipment. Contract #652-S0611 with Premier Election Solutions, Inc. was approved December 13, 2005 as the result of a Request for Proposals for the provision of an optical scan voting system. Amendment I was approved on May 13, 2008 for the provision of a system to produce ballots on-demand at the Elections Office.
Reason for Recommendation: Premier Election Solutions, Inc. has been unable to supply several components of the system listed in Amendment I. Amendment II is being executed to eliminate the items that are not available and decrease the dollar amount agreed to in Amendment #1.
Action to be taken following Board approval: A copy of fully executed contract should be returned to the Elections Department.
