DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
National Voter Registration Day is an effort to create awareness of voter registration opportunities. Today there are many ways to register, by submitting a paper registration, on the web, while renewing your license at the DMV. Although same day registration is an option, there are many advantages to being registered by the close of registration. One such advantange is that you will receive your vote by mail ballot in the mail and/or your name will be printed on the roster at your polling place. For the November 6, 2018 General Election the close of registration is October 22, 2018. Encourage your neighbors and friends to register to vote and participate in the democratic process.
