DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

On October 9, 2018, the Board of Supervisors appointed the Director of Human Resources as its designated representative to negotiate the salary, compensation in the form of fringe benefits, and other related terms and conditions of employment with the Director of Planning and Building candidate in accordance with Government Code section 54957.6, and appointed Tiffany Schmid as the Director of Planning and Building upon successful completion of said compensation negotiations and conditions of employment. 

 

ALTERNATIVES

If not approved, the County will be required to conduct another recruitment for the position of Director of Planning and Building.

FINANCIAL IMPACT

There is no increase in net county cost. The salary and benefits for the Director of Planning and Building are included in the FY 2018-19 Budget.
