District Attorney recommending the Board approve a Budget Transfer to reverse Budget Transfer 29087 previously brought before the Board on February 24, 2009 regarding Real Estate Fraud Prosecution and Investigation activity. (4/5 vote required)

Background: Every year the District Atttorney's office brings forth an agenda item reporting the prior years Real Estate Fraud Prosecution and Investigation activity and requesting a transfer from the special revenue account to cover the expenditures incurred. On February 24, 2009, Agenda item 09-216 was brought to the Board requesting they receive and file the report and authorize the budget transfer. At that time the District Attorney's office should have done the transaction as a journal entry instead of a budget transfer because the budget had already been established during the FY2008/09 budget process which was a change in process from previous years.
Reason for Recommendation: In order to correct the error, a reversing budget transfer needs to be authorized.
Action to be taken following Board approval:
The Auditor's office will post the reversing budget transfer.
The District Attorney's office will process a journal entry.
