Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:  None.  The weapons and equipment were donated to the Sheriff's Office and the estimated value is $3,200.
Background: In the fall of 2008, the Lake Tahoe Community College Criminal Justice Advisory Board took action to suspend the Reserve Peace Officer Training Program.  As a result, the College decided to donate the course equipment to local law enforcement agencies.

Reason for Recommendation: As a represented Board Member, the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office received eight (8) Glock handguns, ten (10) duty belts, sixteen (16) holsters, and various other pieces of law enforcement equipment.

Action to be taken following Board approval:  Sheriff staff will; (1) register the serial numbers of the eight (8) Glock weapons with the Department of Justice; and (2) work with the Auditor's Office to add the listed equipment to the Sheriff's inventory.
