Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: $300 is available in the General Liability sub-fund.
Reason for Recommendation: The State Water Board's Cleanup and Abatement Order imposes a $10,000 penalty against El Dorado County unless certain maintenance obligations are satisfied. The Rubicon Trail Foundation volunteers are essential to meeting these obligations. During the summer months projects include installing cross drains, digging leadout ditches, installing water breaks, blocking bypasses, and sanitation and garbage removal. The County provides other volunteers in the County with accident insurance and this resolution would provide the same coverage for the Rubicon Trail Foundation volunteers.
Action to be taken following Board approval: Risk to bind coverage
