Background:
1. The Medi-Cal Administrative Activities (MAA) special revenue fund contains revenue received for specific Medi-Cal administrative activities performed within the Public Health Division. The funds may be used in a discretionary manner to fund activities performed within the Public Health Division. The Health Services Department is requesting authorization to transfer $1,300,000 from the MAA special revenue fund (401115) to Public Health Administration (401111) to address cash shortages within Public Health’s sub fund 11-109-001.

2. Year-to-date revenue billed and received for Ambulance Services is more than projected in the current year budget. By contract, vendor is paid for billing services at the rate of 4.75% of ambulance billings received and deposited into the County Treasury. Increased revenue collections by the vendor necessitates an increase in the Intrafund Transfer from indexes 408110 and 408210 to support the expenditures in Professional Services in Ambulance Billing 408220.
