DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The California Department of Insurance (CDI) administers the High Impact Insurance Fraud Program for the enhanced investigation and prosecution of insurance fraud. To be awarded High Impact Insurance Fraud Program funds, the insurance fraud case must have a suspected loss over $1,000,000 and meet qualifying case requirements.

The District Attorney has applied for and received funding in support of the investigation and prosecution of an existing insurance fraud case. Funding will be used to pay professional services costs directly related to the case. The grant performance period is July 1, 2018 - June 30, 2019.

A signed resolution is required in order for the District Attorney to execute the Grant Award Agreement.

Approval of these recommendations will allow the District Attorney's Office to receive these grant funds which will support their consumer protection efforts.
