Body
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND:
Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) currently has security cameras at 3047 Briw Road, 3057 Briw Road, 2900 Fairlane Court, and 935B Spring Street. In addition, the new building in South Lake Tahoe will be opening in 2019 and as a component of this additional space, HHSA is planning to purchase a security camera system for the building.

Government Code (GC) Section 26202.6 requires that images obtained by such a security camera system must be maintained for the period of one (1) year. HHSA worked with County Information Technologies to identify for purchase the three servers and associated supporting items which are anticipated to provide sufficient storage space for at least one (1) year retention of the images.

ALTERNATIVES:
At this time, the current servers are not sufficient to allow County to meet the requirements of GC 26202.6 and disapproval of the Budget Transfer Request would result in HHSA being out of compliance with GC 26202.6.

PRIOR BOARD ACTION:
January 23, 2018, File ID 18-0007, Item #18 - approval of Budget Transfer Request for purchase of server and associated hardware for the Behavioral Health Program located at 768 Pleasant Valley Road.

OTHER DEPARTMENT / AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
Information Technologies Department

CAO RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board approve this item.
