Chief Administrative Office, Procurement and Contracts Division, recommending the Chairman be authorized to sign Amendment IV to Agreement for Services 623-S0810 with Ameripride Services of Sacramento, California increasing the contract amount by $50,000 to an amount not to exceed $100,000 for the purpose of providing laundry and linen services on an "as-requested" basis County wide; and make findings that it is more economical and feasible to obtain an outside contractor to provide said services in accordance with County Ordinance Chapter 3.13., Section 3.13.030.

Background: The Procurement and Contracts Division processes various contracts with multple laundry and linen service providers. Multiple contracts are necessary as not all vendors provide the same laundry and linen services and garment, linen, and accessory rental services.
Reason for Recommendation: Your Board is being asked to make findings that it is more economical and feasible to obtain an outside contractor to provide laundry and linen services County wide, rather than to create new County job classifications and obtain the specialized equipment and facilities necessary to perform the services.
On February 27, 2008 the Purchasing Agent executed Agreement for Services #623-S0810 with Ameripride Services for a total not to exceed amount of $10,000.00 for the period of March 31, 2008 through March 31, 2010. Amendment I increased the not to exceed amount to $50,000.00. Amendments II, and III provided for updated fee shcedules.
