DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On October 7, 2010, the El Dorado County Transportation Commission (EDCTC) Board adopted Resolution 10/11.03-A allocating $62,400 in Transportation Development Act Article 3 funds to the Department of Transportation (Transportation) for the El Dorado Trail - Los Trampas to Halcon Project, CIP 97012 (Project).
On October 7, 2010, Transportation submitted a project grant application to the California Department of Parks and Recreation’s Recreational Trails Program (RTP). The proposed RTP grant is to design and construct an extension of the El Dorado Trail from its current terminus at Los Trampas Drive, which is a private road to Halcon Road.
On October 8, 2013 (Item 13), the Board approved the RTP Grant Contract C8532007 with the State of California - Natural Resources Trails Program for $457,979.
On July 15, 2014 (Item 22), Transportation requested $62,400 EDCTC funds to match the $457,979 FY 2010/11 RTP grant and following Board approval, Transportation will submit claims for the funding to EDCTC.
Staff recommends the Board approve and authorize the Chair to sign this Resolution to claim additional funds of $16,962 in Transportation Development Act/ Local Transportation Fund (TDA/LTF) Pedestrian and Bicycle Funds to complete Project closeout and to match federal funds not eligible for match by other funds dedicated to the Project.
ALTERNATIVES
None. If the Resolution is not approved, the County will not be able to acquire the necessary funds to finalize Project close out.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
There is no change to Net County Cost. The El Dorado Trail - Los Trampas to Halcon Project, CIP 97012, is included in the budget and is included in the 2018 Capital Improvement Program.

1. The Clerk of the Board will obtain the Chair’s signature on two Resolutions.
