Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: There is no change to net county cost. This item is budgeted on an annual basis in the departments budget. Cost for FY 2009-10 is approximately $21,704.
Background: The District Attorney's office has been using LexisNexis within the department since April of 2006. The original contract expired 3/31/09. The delay in bringing this item to the Board is due to rate negotiations to lower the fees.
Reason for Recommendation: This agreement references a 4 year term of 4/1/09-3/31/13. During the term, the Subscriber may not terminate the agreement. This agreement may only be terminated by Subscriber after the fourth Commitment Period on the last day of any calendar month upon at least 60 days prior written notice to LexisNexis or with 10 days prior written notice in the event of a rate increase in the Monthly Commitment.
Action to be taken following Board approval: The Chairman will sign the agreement; Procurements and Contracts shall activate a blanket purchase order for the 4 year term; District Attorney will make payment upon receipt and approval of invoices.
