The In-Home Supportive Services Advisory Committee is funded by the annual IHSS PA allocation. Advisory Committee members receive mileage reimbursement and $10 per diem for attendance at regular meetings, up to twelve annually. Approximately $5,000 is budgeted for this purpose annually. Actual expense varies dependent on attendance and distances traveled.

Background:
The IHSS Advisory Committee was established by Ordinance No. 4612 dated September 24, 2002 under the statutory authority of Welfare and Institutions Code 12301.6. The purpose of this independent advisory committee is to provide advice and make recommendations on the IHSS program to the Governing Board and administrative agency of the Public Authority.

Reason for Recommendation:
It is vital that the IHSS Advisory Committee continue to maintain an active membership to help the IHSS and Public Authority programs fulfill their goals and reach future objectives.
