Title: Health Services Department, Mental Health Division, recommending Chairman be authorized to sign Agreement 675-S0911 with Milhous Children’s Services in the amount of $100,000 for the term July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010 to provide specialty mental health services for seriously emotionally disturbed minors on an “as requested” basis for said Department. Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: The not-to-exceed amount of this Agreement is $100,000. There is no Net County Cost associated with this Agreement.

Reason for Recommendation:Milhous Children’s Services is a Level 14 Group Home (i.e. the highest level), and provides support and supervision 24 hours per day. The funding for residential services is provided under a separate agreement between the vendor and the Department of Human Services. This contract provides for specialty mental health services to youth placed in this facility. Mental health services provided include Day Treatment - Intensive, Medication Support, Therapeutic Behavioral Services, Crisis Intervention, as well as individual and family therapy.

Renewal of this contract will allow the continuation of specialty mental health services required for seriously emotionally disturbed youth in the County.

This agreement covers the period July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010.

Action to be taken following Board approval:
1. Chairman to sign two (2) original Agreements.
2. Board Clerk’s Office to return one (1) original Agreement to the Health Services Department, Mental Health Division.
