Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: No Net County Cost. The appropriation was re-budgeted in the FY2009-10 proposed budget. These items are listed in the Fixed Asset schedule of the proposed FY 2009/2010 Sheriff's Office budget.

Background: The FY 2008 Homeland Security Grant approved the purchase of these two Fixed Asset items and set a performance milestone deadline for purchase of June 30, 2009. Allen Vanguard Technologies, Inc., was chosen as a result of a cost comparisons with two other vendors. The Brock Rosenthal Ocean Innovations ROV item was determined as a result of a bid completed in June 2009. However, due to the additional time required to process these purchases, we have been unable to purchase them in FY 2008/09 and had to carry over the purchases to FY 2009/2010. The California Emergency Management Agency (CalEMA) approved an extension of this milestone deadline until September 2009. This extension of the deadline to September 2009 makes early approval of these Fixed Asset purchases necessary.

The purchase of these items were reviewed and approved by the Approval Authority at the time of the 2008 grant application.
