Body

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

Northern California Construction Training (NCCT) is a non-profit organization providing pre-apprenticeship training programs that provide students with training in construction-based trades. NCCT has been providing pre-apprenticeship programs to the Probation Department’s (Probation) clients since October of 2018. The comprehensive program includes hands-on training in construction trades, job safety, first aid, preparation for entry exams to apprenticeship programs, development of appropriate work behaviors, certifications, and job placement services.

NCCT’s instructor wages and benefits are set by appropriate trade unions. NCCT has added an instructor with a higher wage/benefit factor. Additionally, NCCT has restructured its training due to COVID-19. These two elements have changed the monthly billing rates resulting in the increased maximum dollar amount of the Agreement.
