DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

More than 114,000 people nationally are awaiting a life saving organ transplant, Sierra Donor Services provides tissue to hospitals for transplants.  This agreement allows for Sierra Donor Services to pay a fee to use the Public Safety Facility Morgue in order to recover tissue.

It is projected that Sierra Donor will utilize the Sheriff’s Office Morgue facilities six to eight times a year for a projected revenue of $1,5000 - $5,000 per year.  However, the agreement allows for Sierra Donor to recover eyes and tissues as often as needed throughout the length of the agreement allowing for additional revenue.
