DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
Board Policy A-19 was last updated in 2017 (Legistar 17-0518, 7/18/17) with a sunset review date three years later, in 2020. Since the update three years ago, the County has hired a new Director of Information Technologies and a new Chief Information Security Officer. The recommended changes to the policy include updates to conform with current IT best practices in the areas of incidental use of County network, updated definitions and removal of Data Usage, to be incorporated into a separate, new Policy.
IT is recommending changes to Policy A-19 as noted in the attachments to this Board item.
