Probation Department recommending the Board authorize the Chair to sign Agreement 5154 with the County of Nevada to place youth of said county in County of El Dorado Juvenile Detention Facility(ies) on a space-available basis at a rate of $125.00 per day per bed, or a rate of $150.00 per day per bed if placed within the Juvenile Treatment Center Challenge Program, commencing upon final execution and expiring three years thereafter.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The County of El Dorado (El Dorado) has established Juvenile Detention Facility(ies) (JDF) for the temporary or long-term commitment of youth detained in accordance with the provisions of the California Welfare and Institutions Code.
On July 14, 2020, the County of Nevada Board of Supervisors approved Resolution #20-318 authorizing the closure of their Nevada County Carl F. Bryan II Youth Center on or before June 30, 2021.
Subsequent to the closure of their youth facility, the County of Nevada Probation Department may desire to place youth of its Juvenile Court in an El Dorado JDF, to the extent that accommodations exist. Rates payable to El Dorado are $125.00 per day per bed or $150.00 per day per bed for the Juvenile Treatment Center Challenge Program.
