Body

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

The Board established an ad hoc committee to work with County staff, community members and the County's Broadband consultant to make recommendations from the Broadband Needs Assessment and Feasibility Study, completed in 2019, regarding Broadband initiatives within the County.  The committee meets to research and discuss Broadband options/alternatives and to make recommendations relative to Broadband grants and related funding options.  This committee will provide follow-up recommendations to the Broadband Needs Assessment and Feasibility Study.  The provision of Broadband internet services to residents and businesses in the County is a component of the County Strategic Plan.  Supervisors Frenzen and Novasel have been serving on the Broadband Ad Hoc Committee.  Staff recommends appointment of one new member to the committee to provide continuity on the committee and allow time for the remaining member to bring the new member up to speed.

ALTERNATIVES

The Board could choose to select two new members.
